Islamabad: The interim bail of the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has been extended until July 19 in eleven cases registered in Islamabad.

The cases were presented before Judge Abul Hasnat of the Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad. Two cases from Khana Police Station and one case from Bihar Kahu Police Station were heard during the court session.

During the proceedings, Judge Abul Hasnat expressed his concern, saying, “Is the purpose of this court solely to grant bail? If the accused is innocent, justice should be served. The investigation should be thorough and conducted in a timely manner. Our objective is to protect the country, and we do not favor any individual.”

The court emphasized that justice should be administered based on the provided assurances. The key concern is a transparent investigation, as the case cannot proceed in the conventional manner. The court clarified its support for the accused rather than the prosecution, and emphasized that any delays would not be tolerated.

Subsequently, the court further extended the interim bail until July 19 in three cases involving the Chairman of PTI.

Meanwhile, in Islamabad Sessions Court, Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra presided over the hearing of six cases against the Chairman of PTI. The judge extended the interim bail until July 19 and stated that if the investigation is not completed by the next hearing, a decision would be rendered.

Interim bail until July 19 has been granted by Additional Sessions Judge Farrukh Fareed in the two cases filed against the Chairman of PTI at Shehzad Town police station.
