Islamabad: President Arif Alvi has put forth a suggestion for the replacement of his principal secretary, Waqar Ahmad, and recommended the appointment of Humira Ahmed as the new principal secretary.
As per available information, the President’s House has initiated the process of returning the President’s Secretary’s services to the Establishment Division. President Arif Alvi conveyed his decision via a letter addressed to the Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary.
The communication outlines the President’s request for the Establishment Division to conclude the tenure of the President’s current Principal Secretary, Waqar Ahmed. President Arif Alvi has expressed that Secretary Waqar Ahmed’s services are no longer required in his capacity as the President of the Republic.
The President’s letter has indicated the recommendation for the appointment of Humira Ahmed as the new Principal Secretary.
In a recent development, the President expressed his disagreement with the President’s official secret and Army Act amendment bills through a tweet yesterday. He clarified that he did not endorse these laws and instructed his staff to return both bills without his signature. Acknowledging the potential impact of his decision, he extended his apologies to those who might be affected by it.
