LONDON: Nawaz Sharif, the former prime minister and leader of the PML-N party, has announced his intention to return to Pakistan soon, according to a report by ARY News on Thursday.
In a conversation with the party’s former senator, Zafar Iqbal, in London, Nawaz Sharif stated that he is currently in consultation with his legal advisors and is making preparations for his return to Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of maintaining Pakistan’s democratic system and ensuring that it remains on track without any disruptions. The meeting between Nawaz Sharif and Zafar Iqbal also covered discussions on matters related to the party and their shared interests.
Presently, Shehbaz Sharif, the former prime minister’s brother and the President of PML-N, is in London as well. His visit aims to address issues concerning Nawaz Sharif’s impending return to Pakistan and the current political landscape within the country.
Sources indicate that Shehbaz Sharif is engaged in consultations with Nawaz Sharif regarding his return and various party-related matters. The involvement of the PML-N’s legal team in these discussions is also anticipated.
