The probability of an Indian space mission becoming active is diminishing rapidly

New Delhi: India’s lunar mission “Chandrayaan 3,” which successfully landed on the moon last month on August 23, has now gone missing. However, efforts are underway to reestablish contact with the mission.

According to the Indian Space Agency, signals from “Chandrayaan 3” have not been received so far. The extreme cold temperatures at the moon’s south pole have damaged the batteries, causing a loss of communication with Chandrayaan 3.

Media reports suggest that the possibility of reactivating the Indian lunar mission Chandrayaan 3 has diminished with each passing day.

In this regard, former head of the Indian Space Agency, Kiren Kumar, has mentioned that the chances of reactivating the mission sent to the moon are decreasing by the hour.

Speaking to a British media agency, he stated that due to the extremely low temperatures, the mission may not be able to be reactivated. Nighttime temperatures at the moon’s south pole drop to between negative 200 and 250 degrees Celsius. Chief S. Somanath has said that it cannot be confirmed when contact will be reestablished with Chandrayaan 3, but the space agency will continue its efforts to do so.

Kiren Kumar has stated that efforts to reactivate the mission will continue until the lunar day ends. It’s worth noting that a lunar day and night cycle on the moon lasts more than 14 Earth days.
