In a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday, it was reported that an infiltration attempt by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists from Afghanistan was thwarted, resulting in the martyrdom of at least four soldiers.
The incident occurred near Sambaza in District Zhob, an area located near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Swift action by security forces successfully repelled the militants who were trying to breach Pakistan’s borders, according to ISPR.
The four brave soldiers who lost their lives in the engagement were identified as Havildar Sattar, Lance Naik Sher Azam, Lance Naik Adnan, and Sepoy Nadeem.
ISPR also mentioned that three TTP militants were killed during the exchange of fire, while several others sustained injuries. The statement emphasized that Pakistan’s Security Forces will remain committed to thwarting the efforts of those seeking to disrupt peace and prosperity in the country.
This incident comes after a recent attack earlier in the month when four soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred in an assault by a well-armed group of terrorists on two military posts near the Afghanistan border in the Kalash area of district Chitral. According to ISPR, the movement and concentration of terrorists in various areas of Nuristan and Kunar provinces in Afghanistan were detected and shared with the interim Afghan government in advance.
“Given the heightened threat environment, our posts were already on high alert. The courageous soldiers fought valiantly and repelled the attacks, inflicting significant casualties on the terrorists. In the exchange of fire, 12 terrorists were eliminated, while a substantial number sustained critical injuries,” the ISPR statement reported.
