FCA set to fix targets for Rabi crops


In Islamabad, the Federal Committee on Agriculture (FCA) is scheduled to convene on October 11th to assess the performance of both major and minor crops during the Kharif sowing season. Additionally, the committee will establish production targets for the Rabi 2024 crops with the aim of meeting the nation’s domestic demands and facilitating exports to international markets.

According to a senior official from the Ministry of Food Security, the FCA, led by Minister of National Food Security and Research Dr. Kausar Abdullah Malik, holds the responsibility of overseeing strategic initiatives to guarantee food safety and security.

The official further noted that the meeting will involve the participation of senior officials from provincial food and agriculture departments, the State Bank, ZTBL, the National Fertiliser Development Centre, the Pakistan Meteorological Department, and the Indus River System Authority. The primary goal is to strengthen coordination efforts, consolidate achievements, and foster progress across all sectors of agricultural development.
