In Rawalpindi, the Commissioner, Laiqat Ali Chatha, has issued instructions to the deputy commissioner to find a suitable location for establishing a vegetable market within the next week, serving the requirements of Rawalpindi’s residents.
This directive was given during a meeting held at the Commissioner’s Office in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
The primary goal of this endeavor is to provide an alternative to purchasing fruits and vegetables from the higher-priced Islamabad market. By establishing a local market, it is anticipated that prices can be more effectively regulated.
The Commissioner has tasked the deputy commissioners of the four districts with comparing their rate lists to those of other divisions. They should work to rationalize prices and ensure that price magistrates are promptly deployed to enforce these rates.
