In an effort to maintain order and security in the Murree district, authorities have enforced Section 144 for a duration of one month.
According to the official notification released by the district administration, several significant measures have been introduced. Entry of nomadic individuals into Murree has been strictly forbidden for the next month. This decision has been taken to prevent potential harm to trees caused by animals accompanying nomads and to discourage illegal Afghan refugees from entering the district by posing as nomads.
The possession and use of any kind of weapons within Murree have been prohibited during this specified period. Additionally, except for the Azan (the Islamic call to prayer), the use of loudspeakers is temporarily suspended. Any use of loudspeakers beyond this exception requires prior authorization from the administration.
Murree’s Deputy Commissioner, Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi, has emphasized that these measures are vital for enhancing the overall law and order situation in the district. The authorities are fully committed to taking all necessary actions to improve the district’s law and order situation, he added.
As part of the Safe Food Model City Project, a series of seminars and nutrition camps are being organized to raise awareness about nutrition among the public.
One such awareness seminar on food safety was conducted at the Arts Council Murree, with the Deputy Commissioner of Murree and the Director of Operations North, Amina Rafiq, participating as special guests.
Various food business operators from Murree and its neighboring areas were also present at the event. The seminar aimed to promote adherence to hygiene standards in food preparation, especially since a large number of tourists visit Murree during the winter season.
Representatives from the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) provided information to the food business operators about the authority’s rules and regulations. They expressed their readiness to cooperate fully in addressing the challenges faced by food businesses.
During the event, the food business operators pledged their full cooperation in providing healthy food to tourists.
