ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has reportedly made the decision to launch its election campaign starting next week, according to well-placed sources.
In an important meeting chaired by PML-N supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, committees will be formed at divisional and district levels for the electoral campaign, sources revealed.
Furthermore, committees will also be established to finalize the PML-N candidates for the upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan dismissed rumors of any delay in the elections. Responding to President Alvi’s interview, the electoral body stated that their preparations were fully complete.
“The election schedule will be announced after the publication of constituency delimitation. There is no possibility of any delay in the elections,” said a spokesperson in a statement.
The spokesperson added that the first phase of the delimitation process has been completed, and the second phase will end once objections to the preliminary delimitations are filed.
The Election Commission will begin hearing objections regarding delimitation from October 30-31, and a final list will be published on November 30.
